E-Liquids
- E-liquid is typically composed of nicotine, propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerine, and flavourings
- These ingredients are also used in many other products such as nicotine replacement therapies (patches and gums), inhalers and food.
- Ingredients such as diacetyl or tocopherol acetate are prohibited in e-liquids sold in Ireland and the EU
Vapour
- Vapour does not contain tar or carbon monoxide, two of the most harmful elements in tobacco smoke
- Nicotine replacement therapies offer devices where nicotine can be inhaled.
- There is no evidence to suggest that passive inhalation of second-hand vapour has any health impacts.
